Plastic Spitfire
One Type 300 fuselage was constructed using Aerolite plastic material in August 1940, as an insurance against aluminium shortages. Not flown.
Would that be the first attempt at a compositea/c fuselage (other than wooden hybrids)?
Is it common knowledge?
Was it a World first even?
