Gross mismanagement, outright thievery (in some cases), inflated 'commissions' on new Airbus aircraft in years past, poor marketing, civil war strife (now concluded, I believe), and...kicking out Emirates management due to a perceived slight on the part of the countries President, recent worldwide economic calamities...have all conspired to turn this once reasonably run carrier to the brink of collapse.
Quite frankly, they did much better when they had TriStar and B737 equipment, years ago.
Presently, they are so far in the red that it is hard to imagine continued ops, let alone, profitable ops.
The citizens of SriLanka deserve better....much better.
