User manual p7, check IDE channel master is what you expected.

User manual p10-12, boot disk priority.

If the new chipset is too different from the original computer, you may need to consider booting from a CD and doing an "install" followed by "Repair existing" (as opposed to the totally evil "repair" option). But don't go to either of these places unless you're desperate.
