Congratulations Graeme, it is indeed Denmark's one and only indigenous fighter – the Nielsen and Winther Type AA. It was of wooden construction and was powered by a Swedish 90hp Thulin Rotary engine (a Le Rhone clone). Its first flight was in January 1917 with ground testing for the synchronising gear for its 8mm Madsen machine gun taking place in 1918. Six AA's were delivered to the Royal Danish Air Force in 1917, but they saw very little action. They were withdrawn from service in 1919 due to engine unreliability. Prototypes for a two seat reconnaissance version (Type AB) and a float-plane version (Type AC) were completed, but did not go into production.

Sablatnic has pointed out that there is a replica in a museum in Denmark.

I think that most of us have access to the same information.

You have control.
