Why invest in a CAT 3 ILS , CAS (D) if you have bugger all aircraft to use them?
Have you thought perhaps it needs CATIII to attract airlines in the first place? The same could be said for the link road - is it there aren't enough airlines to warrant a link road? Or there aren't enough airlines because there isn't a link road? You have to spend money before you can make money! Some are also forgetting that Peel own Liverpool Airport - I doubt they'd close that anytime soon!

What DSA needs is an airline that doesn't have a base around this area already (that is, Jet2, Ryanair or bmibaby). Potential candidates (in my opinion) are FlyBe and Wizz Air (if they decide they want to operate from this end of Europe). I say FlyBe because they don't have a base in this area (closest is Birmingham). In the future they may want to open a Northern England base. I would suggest easyJet since they have just pulled out of East Midlands, but they don't seem to want to operate smaller bases, and already operate from "nearby" Newcastle.
