Remember when I was working as a Ringer on Camfield in my pre-flying days, that the 25 was alright on donkeys, but ran out of handloads later when I was trying to bag a buffalo at Humpty Doo after I had made an old bull mad - so would have preferred a more scientific approach and more spare full load ammo then... Had to slink back to the EH ute and set up and load some more shells.. never did get him.
After leaving Camfield another two young ringers and self went via Kunnunurra and Derby and back up to Darwin for a looksee. The cheques ran out so one ringer and I worked in the coldroom at the meatworks in December and we all camped at the end of the airport. Were woken up each morning as the Sabres of the Black Panther squadron took off. One guy and self made it back home in my ute with an empty tank and 10 bob in my pocket for Christmas. We had left Skull (shaved head), behind in Fanny Bay jail after he had taken a car for a joyride without his car yard bosses permission.
