We can afford Defence spending and a lot more besides if the
proposals put forward by James Tobin were adopted. The money this would raise would be eye watering and have the added advantages of stopping stock markets over heating and getting the people who helped to cause this mess to pay for it. I also find it odd how the Tories are not looking at PFIs which are doing so much to 'silt up' (I believe the phrase is) defence spending.
