Lunkenheimer: Quite right, especially for the 'progressive' state of Minnesota.
Many of us who fly through MSP often refer to the "Star Tribune" newspaper as the 'Hanoi Tribune' or even the 'Hammer and Sickle'.
It is interesting that the newspaper decided not (yet) to distort the incident into an accusation of shoddy maintenance at the airline: such a situation happened several years ago at Twin Cities tv station WCCO; they were harshly criticized by a state media association for the cheapest, shoddiest form of sensationalism, which preceded a "ratings sweep" (viewer surveys etc), the results of which determine whether a given station receives the most advertising revenue.
Let's hope for the sake of the DC-9 crew, that they had three illuminated green gear lights on final approach.
