Few years since I hung up my goggles, but i'm just wondring what the flt time limitations on ULR ops are these days. A friend of mine recently flew Emirates to Melbourne on a flt which incurred a delay of approx eight hours. She is concerned that the flight crew were not changed as they must have been on duty for over twenty hours, having reported presumably sometime around midnight for the flt.
I can't imagine any reponsible airline that contends that safety and fatigue issues to be their main priority would allow this to occur from base.If so,following recent events in MEL I wonder what the ATSB would have to say. I'm not sure they would relish crews flying into Aus obviously fatigued , and it makes one wonder why the crew themselves did not go crew fatigue. Possibly, from what I read on these pages, fear of later retribution might reign in Emirates
