"Restarted:Galway, Carnmore (GWY) to Waterford (WAT)"

Good to see more domestic connections but midweek on this route is of little use to the student/leisure pax who might use it and more a sign of poor loads mid week on LTN route.

"So what happened to the proposed Aer Arann/Nex Aviation deal? Dead duck, or is there a 146 in Aer Arann's future?"

I believe last summers experiment was a one off. The NEX aircraft was last operating under Flightline license. A lot of REs thinner GWY routes were cut last winter, AMS survived for a couple of months after with an ATR operating a reduced schedule via WAT but that was also cut.

If they couldn't make AMS work with an ATR and a stop in WAT then the economics of running a thirsty 146, load restricted out of GWY in a recession look slim.
