, I have posted twice on this issue in the Air Astana section. My application was not accepted for the same reason even with level 6 English proficiency. From the explanation I got from the agents I understand where they are coming from but still

I am not as much annoyed by their requirement of native English speaking pilots only but more by the way they are limiting themselves by looking at your place of birth rather than the actual language proficiency as many Brits and Yanks (no offense!) can be difficult to understand with their various accents!
Given the current conditions we might be seeing more of this cherry picking attitudes...all legal apparently.
