G1000 for BE20
We have Chelton synthetic vision now in our helicopter. It is WAAS LPV and very nice. We need WAAS LPV synthetic vision for the BE20 and the choices are Chelton or Garmin. The Collins is not WAAS LPV. We have had a bad experience with Garmin 530 units. I believe it is a correct statement that Garmin is a GA product.
The G1000 comes with a new auto pilot and twice the price tag. I think it is best to have homogeneous avionics for safety and ease of training though.
I would like to know from anyone that has used the latest Garmin products if the user interface is the same as their legacy products.
