During a recent brush up I stayed in the white cottage as mentioned above for 2 nights and in a pub called The Swan for the other 3 nights.
For The Swan, think it was about £30 a night, rooms basic but a full english breakfast included every morning, friendly staff also good menu for dinner or having a drink later on, beer garden, pool table etc
perfect after a hard days studying!
