Talking Can an expat apply directly to an Asian carriers w/o having to go to agencies???

Hello,

I am a yank who would really like to apply to airlines such as Korean Air, SIA, Vietnam and some chinese regionals. The problem? My understanding is that the only way I can apply to these places is by going through contract agenices such as Rishworth, etc. Does anyone know why these airlines require going through a contract agency, whereas, airlines such as Cathay and Emirates allow direct applications? Also, does anyone know if (or how) I can directly apply to airlines such as Korean Air, Tiajin, airlines in India, etc.??

Hope someone can provide help.
