Thanks fellas for the replies.
More like 600-650m at mtow, isa +10. Maybe the NG uses less with the power up to 1600 from 1200hp.
Pretty sure the NG is still flat rated at 1200shp, its just the thermodynamic limit thats been lifted, meaning you can hold on to 1200 shp longer. Good for those hot days!
Beautiful trailing link undercarriage - will handle a real pounding but you get some pretty horrible noises from the nosewheel on the really rough strips. That said, nothing has broken yet - the swiss build is strong
Niiiice! What about the prop on these kinds of surfaces, given that the nosewheel is relatively aft, does it manage to keep clear of the worst of it? Is there enough clearance? On the subject of nosewheel location, I'm assuming the oleo is mounted via the firewall and not the engine mounts?
Ours regularly goes in and out of SL elev, 580m grass strip.
We can do that at MTOW up to about 25 degrees C, any hotter than that you start to trade weight for ground roll performance.
If it's light, easily airborne inside of 500 metres.
And as mentioned above, they stop real quick.
Wow
I'd be looking at commercial ops, so all the t's crossed, i's dotted kind of thing. Without incriminating yourself, would the above strip tick the boxes, could you make it work on paper? Basically, is it doable commercially? Do you have to use any grass correction there?
Basically, what I'd be looking at is a flying Landcruiser (of the AC leather seat variety)! Thus far, it seems its only the PC12 that fits the bill.
