The Al Ain academy is not really operating to train engineers. In time they are trying to stuff any course for any one in there to make it look busy.
As the approval of Jaa for the Gcaa, I thought it was intially approved this summer. Unfortunatley the poor chap who has paid his money and waiting to fly will be in for a very long wait. Horizon at the begining of the year alone took on over 20 ppl students, happily took their money and then told them to wait........................
some are still waiting I believe, others they gave their money back to.
EY students have the most priority, ppl's are told to wait............
And yes, if you are thinking to carry on as a pilot, the GCAA licence is completely useless, also extremely expensive.
EY are completing at the moment with an excess of 100 cadets required to be actual pilots, the theory they are recieving is flawed and they are teaching there pilots to answer multiple choice with no idea about the subject, or the ability to speak english correctly.
My words are go to europe, australia or the US and get a proper licence.
