Do anything NOT to work for Hainan and Hong Kong Airlines/Express

That is Hainan advertising. HKE/HKA is basicaly Hainan in Hong Kong.

If you want to live in one of the most expensive cities in the world but getting less than local pay and conditions with no housing stay at HKE/HKA.

If you want to earn slightly more money (still below expat average) but have no rights whatsoever and be really disapointed when the promised commuting roster and other promises do not eventuate, work for Hainan in Beijing. (why is Hainan paying pilots more in the Chinese mainland than HKE/HKA in Hong Kong? )

Hong Kong is the 5th most expensive city in 2009, and MOST expensive for housing, with average rental prices for expats at $35,000 HKD per month. However the majority of expats in Hong Kong are paid generous housing allowances. Not HKA/HKE.

When Wu and Hainan management realize than eroding away salary and conditions to barely sustainable levels is not the way to long term prosperity, the company will benefit. But the trust they have lost from all pilots will never be regained even if the package is improved soon as rumored (read returned to same pathetic contract as last year). EVERYONE will still walk given the chance. I bet you do not know one person that is not looking to get of HKA/HKE out as soon as the next upturn happens. The trust is gone forever. Morale is alarming low.

Better still do anything NOT to work for either company. You will add years to your lifespan, and you and your family will be much happier.

Good luck with all the interviews and job hunting that many of you are doing. Trust me, life out of HNA and HKA/HKE is bloody fantastic.
