That is true and it is and much time is wasted going in and out of FAGC. However, for a PPL renewal, I would prefer to see the applicant negotiate the busy area around Grand Central with perhaps a touch and go at FALA. The demonstration of overall airmanship is, in my view, rather more important than a GF sortie-although it is obvious some of that must be donw. A PPL renewal could easily enough encompass two hours of Hobbs time.
