I think that someone asked for a photo of the strip. This is the best that I can do on short notice.
As
Chuck and others have said, in it's heyday, it was a DC3 strip but, as you can see, there's not a lot of opportunity to take photos on approach. And, as it's a one-way strip, not a lot to see on the way out either. Land 17, take-off 35.
This photo was taken some
MANY years ago but, even then, the strip had progressively fallen into disrepair, with a large unusable section prior to the permanently displaced THR. Average elevation 1269 feet, length (excluding unusable section) 855 metres, average slope 2.2% (1.26 degrees). Surface is grassed black silt which is quite solid in dry conditions, but a tad slippery when wet.
