Only snippet I can add is that it visited RAF Benson in 60/61, maybe to do with 38 Group? As a National Serviceman I was involved in servicing the Benson ILS equipment. I saw it on a number of occasions, or did Odiham have more than one? I don't recall it using the ILS. It just seemed to float out of the sky and land on a sixpence. With a strong headwind I think they could fly backwards from a ground viewpoint.
