My memory of that day..
was that it was a weekday.. the check controller would never check on weekends.. it was too slack traffic-wise. Plus there were people at the DCA workshop so it was a weekday.
I dont think there was any issue between the gentleman and an ATC. but I could be wrong. "The Goss" on the day was that the gent arrived at the Aerodrome to fly the the morning RPT Bandit service to Goroka dressed in a cargo boi's outfit a little worse for wear. "Your not flying the bandit in that get up, take the Porter to Goroka for a servicing" or words to that effect were spoken.
I'll be interested to know how accurate this goss was..but hey its a great story!
