I know that SkyEurope are Slovakia's de factor flag carrier and there are issues of both national pride but also economic necessity of having air transport connections, but what does it take for the Slovakian regulator to do something about NE's financial situation ?

Lithuania was probably in a similiar situation - at least when flyLAL was in serious trouble a decision was taken to bit the bullet and act. Instead we have a half-dead zombie of an airline somehow staggering on but unable to admit that it's time to stop.

Maybe that ticket you bought will be honoured, maybe it won't. Perhaps acceptable in a country that has a very low average income or an island nation, but not a landlocked country in the EU.

Either NE gets the influx of cash, or it drastically cuts its costs..... or the regulator has to step in and use its legal powers.
