Cause in Germany I think it is (in most instances) so that the airline will pay for the Type Rating.
Excuse me for the CAPS!

IF MOST AIRLINES PAY FOR YOUR TRs ANYWAYS, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO BUY ONE???????????????
