Mate,
We were doing that in the '60's, B707/DC-8/whatever.
TOD - Idle
~1000/1500 ft,- off idle and stable by 500' VMC/1000' IMC.
Amazingly, you don't even need an autopilot, just brains.
Over 20 years ago, (YBBN) we conducted trials for nominated touchdown times --without any ground based "computerised" prediction, just clearance via a STAR, and leave the speed control to the pilots, and consistently achieved the nominated time +/- 30s. Even early FMCS systems made it a doddle.
Tootle pip!!
