A man has appeared in court accused of shining a laser pen at a police helicopter.
Sean Donald Holt, 22, of West Avenue, Golborne, appeared at Wigan Magistrates' Court charged with recklessly acting in a manner likely to endanger a police helicopter.
He spoke only to confirm his name and was dressed in a white T-shirt and blue tracksuit bottoms.
It is alleged that he shone a bright laser pen at a police helicopter, causing disruption and potentially impairing vision, on May 22.
He was released on bail and will enter his plea when he appears at Liverpool Crown Court on August 17.
