@aviatorVette: if you still have a couple of weeks to go before you start your training. get out now and go get a degree instead.
even if there is an aviation boom again (unlikely for the next 10-15 years) the backlog is so tremendous that you don't stand a chance.
but hey, if you have the money lying around gathering dust. go for it!
