in our information it is written that you don't have to pay extra baggage in case you have a direct fly with Etihad, for example, Milan-Abu Dhabi.
While it is written that if you have to take a connection with another airline, in that case you have to pay the extra baggage. Etihad will not reimburse you. That is what I read.
