Doesn't this make far too much sense ?
If there is an official endorsement of the F35C version then what happens to VSTOL for the RAF, Would there be any consideration of buying two different versions ?
I can see the 'budgeteers' using the 'increased modification costs' to the Carriers as an excuse to cancel the entire program.
The money 'saved' could be diverted towards more P&W powered F35B's for the RAF.
