In a few years when the economy picks up again I would love to see another low cost carrier (although I won’t name them for now) to replace Ryanair to Glasgow, East Midlands, Venice, Milan and perhaps Bordeaux or Biarritz for the summer season – perhaps 2 or 3 weekly flights to Pisa could be another flight for the summer. Lufthansa to Frankfurt, Brussels Air to Brussels and Austrian to Vienna would be more connections that Cork needs. Are Ryanair going to start flights from Cork – doubtful. Might be ideal for Aer Arann to replace BMI on the Birmingham route with 2 daily flights. Early morning and tea-time departures. Would Ryanair consider starting more flights from Cork if they got the Old Terminal but if they don’t would they still consider more flights like they have from Shannon – doubtful. Toulouse would be another good flight out of Cork for the summer season to the beautiful South of France, 2 or 3 weekly flights.
