Actually LMD, not entirely right. All SFB stands are power-in if the aircraft is of an appropriate size. For A330s up, where the airlines prefer having the second door to the jetway, stands 4 and 5 are towed in because of engine proximity problems. 767s / DC-10s downwards can power into these stands the same as all the others. The exception is A300s which are always towed in but they are very rarely used on UK-SFB routes.The reason 1-3 are not towed in is simply because they never experience aircraft bigger than a 767/DC10! If that were not the case, however, the same rule would apply.

And if GW worked for SAA then he wouldn't post incorrect information regarding the airport that that organization runs and manages would he?
