This is exactly why I decided to go to USA to finish my CPL. The flight training here is great but I opted to stop suffering with the useless theory that CPL students must learn in South Africa. Although there are 8 and not 14 exams the SA syllabus is pretty much the same as the JAA (calculate the square root of the banana).
From a pilot point of view I am glad not having a European nationality.
