Panshanger £50 Landing Fee
Has anyone else been asked to pay £50 to land an R22 at Panshanger?
Apparently it's because there have been 'issues' with helicopters, and the fee is reduced if you have been to a personal briefing at the aerodrome - but you're not allowed to fly in to get briefed without paying the £50! You have to drive in, or get there some other way!
If there are 'issues' then I fail to see how they can be dealt with by charging £50. If it is safety related, then a higher landing fee isn't going to fix it. If it's not safety (e.g;. noise abatement), then isn't that what pooleys etc is for?
I've only ever been there 3 times, and each time has had different stupid things happen. It's so much easier not to bother with them when North Weald/Stapleford/Wycombe are just so friendly and helpful: I take my £1,500 per month fuel business somewhere else!
