If you think applying to an airline without a valid IR is going to even give you a chance than you are really out of touch with reality. Airlines want to make sure that you can fly IFR and you can renew it. They are not going to pay all that money to train you for a Type Rating, which would renew your IFR and you bomb it because your skills are not up to par. Perhaps the standards over there are different, everywhere else in the world if you dont have an IFR you dont have a shot. Especially a low timer.
