ALWAYS USE THE PAPER CHECKLIST, this can't be stressed enough, your students will thank you, even if others use GUMP and that other crap.
Sorry, cannot agree here - yes, any checks on the ground should be done from the paper checklist, but in the air they should be done from memory - head down doing downwind checks from a paper checklist with 5 in the circuit has got to be wrong!
