Beak,

The AQC course is clearly detailed on the CTC site. The JOC element is clearly separated from the MCC element and is covered in the last week, both ground school and sim. As pointed out above, there is officially, no such thing as a JOC - there is no certificate and it is not a rating, it is a transitional course designed to help those heading towards their first jet TR. No doubt the JOCs mentioned above had been deemed, by the CAA, to cover the required MCC syllabus. As far as I am aware, OAT define their single package course as MCC+JOC, so the whole issue is irrelevant anyway.

However, I think there might be some merit to the notion that if the MCC is performed in a full motion 737 sim with a reasonable amount of hand flying, the JOC is of potentially negligible value. But then again, it won't hurt and going into your first TR feeling all the basic bases are covered is a good thing.
