The sick passenger aboard the KLM MD-11 that diverted to Cork yesterday is reported to have had some kind of cardiac event. The passenger is supposed to have suffered a gun shot wound to the neck area a few days ago in Panama and was being flown to Amsterdam for further medical treatment.
It seems there may have been some confusion about how the drama was reported to the authorities with some thinking the shooting had taken place aboard the flight and De Paper is reporting the Gardai are remaining mum about saying if the Garda armed Emergency Respone Unit was deployed or not up at Cork during yesterday's events!
A bit of drama for us in Cork and at least the airport has had the visit of at least one widebody this year!
