I agree with you LJ, there really is very little point in re-sitting GCSE's or A levels for that matter.

However, if at 30 you work in IT Support with no certifications and only armed with a degree in IT, then doing an MCSE in order to get a possible pay rise at work or to find work elsewhere isn't that bad an idea. He'll also be making his back up plan stronger.

I am in IT and I'm trying to better myself in the industry just in case I never get that break in aviation. the more certifications I get the better the job, the better the pay, the quicker I can get the CPL/IR/MCC underway and if all fails I'll still have many years/qualifications/certifications in an industry where there is plenty of money to be made.


... I guess what I am trying to say is don't put all your eggs in one basket.
