For a younger person at school or college, I would agree but when DB777 is already
Age: 30
I wouldn't bother. I'd just crack on with the PPL and aim for as higher marks as possible in the ATPL's.

I don't think the airlines are as bothered about school qualifications for career changers in their 30's, they will look more at what jobs you have had in the mean time and life experience you have gained since that you can bring to the role.

For young wannabe's straight out of school/college etc, there is little else to go on which is why for younger people qualifications are more important.

Just my HO of course.
