What are the chances that BOTH the CHT and OIL temps are dodgey?
We don't know the story, the engine might be very tired and on condition, just waiting for the unsuspecting newly endorsed PPL pilot to jump on the controls before it fails spectacularly.
Or indeed it could just be one engine is leaned far more than the other. (trying to match up the levers instead of the gauges??)
