OAT Statement

Dear Pruners

Just thought I should pay you the courtesy of following up on the OAT threads that have been going on recently. I shall comment separately on the 2 most prevalent.

1. OAT - Please answer!

Unfortunately I have had no response via email from Desk Pilot, but I see VORTIME has been succesful in contacting us. I can only hope that DP has found a solution to his problem. With regard to ringing OAT and getting an answer machine, the MD assured us this morning that the answer machine has gone. In future when you ring OAT, you will get a Person at the end of one of the seven lines.

2. The end of OATS?

As was stated in the thread, restructuring and redundancies really were long overdue and did not/ do not mean that OATS is on the way out, in fact good news this morning. Thanks to the efforts of the new MD and his staff, we are assured an improvement in performance this year, as a consequence of this and new business contracts, OAT will be purchasing new simulators to FNPT2 standard, refurbishing some classrooms and finally replacing some of the Senecas with new ones. On the HR front due to the new business, 6 of the Flying Instructors who were in line for redundancy are now needed so great news for them.

I hope this has cleared things up for you all. In future, should anyone have any similar trouble, please try the email and fax facilities as well, but failing that I am contactable here and will pass on details to the relevant department.

On a personal level, I do feel that there may have been a bit of a wind up element to some of these posts, but I treat all complaints seriously unless proven otherwise. Perhaps now I can get back to training.

Regards and good luck to all in your careers.
