In the fair few times that I have been carted around in the back of Puma, Sea King, Chinook or Iroquois (didn't think it was a Griffin that we used in Brunei).
I can never remember the crew chief being safely strapped in with the rest of us. He was always walking around stooped or crouched by the door with his long harness clipped on. Especially when landing where he always had his head out the door whilst giving information to the pilot.
If I went to an airshow, I would want to see the crew act as if they were on ops, not all 'two penny buns' as if they were landing on a nice flat billiard table of an airfield.
