I would recommend Son Bonet (LESB) as well. I've been flying there countless times around the weekends and never had a problem getting and landing there. They just have a freecall service and parking is cheap too
With taxi you will need around 15-30 minutes to get into palma, depending on traffic.
Heli traffic seems to prefer Son Bonet anyway, it is just way easier to get in and out, especially during summer. HEMS (AS355), Firefighter (B212,W3A, AS350) and flight schools (R22,R44) is all there.
If you want to go to LEPA anyway, you'll have an easy and closer (if inbound from the north) alternative.
Since you'll be on ATC all the way enroute to Palma, the radar controller usually tells you quite early about your chances for LEPA.
