Of course what is being conveniently ignored by those here who bemoan the impost on Qantas for having to pay it's cabin crew a first world living wage [as opposed to the preferable, third world subsistence wage] is the
fact that recent worldwide airline profitability pressure is an out of line event.
An event described as not having been seen since the 1930s.
Just prior to the global financial meltdown Qantas reported a
record annual profit
in excess of AUD $1 Billion.
All whilst having to pay it's staff first world, living wages.......
