Cazatou and Walter.
Thank you for your informative posts.
It is around 13 years since I read the BOI. I do not have a copy.
What was set on the Altimeter post impact?
What was the Regional QNH, at the time and one hour before?
What was the Lowest Forecast Pressure for the route?
In my time it was permissable to use this "safe" setting instead of changing Regionals in short low levels?
What were the Macrihanish, Prestwick and Glasgow QNH's. Again using an accurate airfield QNH for a nearby (30nm?), was acceptable practice.
Of course they may have set the LZ QNH. Anybody know what that was?
I could trawl back through eight years of posts but I am sure someone has at least some of the figures to hand.

The ADF is of little value in LL transits. Selecting a Commercial Station that gives shipping forecasts and pressure settings, smacks of good airmanship Caz, not bad.
