Competition is great, as it lowers fares and gives more choice. However, too much competition on thin routes drives one airline out with low fares, then makes the public too used to these low fares, and makes the route unsustainable for the remaining airline(s). London and some UK routes ex Belfast can handle the competition, but multiple airlines going against each other on routes like CDG etc, is silly
