You buy into a business for the long term i.e., you're not seeking to recoup your "investment" next week.
So you seek to weed out the unprofitable elements of the business first and leave those elements which are worth nothing and only cost you a minimal amount or conversely already generate profit alone.
Everybody is interested in low-cost at the moment.
If they aren't, they will be come the winter.
