Herod, may well have been the HAC Nimrod you saw - it was at Biggin today and looked absolutely stunning, silver wings reflecting the sunlight as it looped and rolled beneath some pretty impressive cumulus clouds - teenage CBs some of them. Sounded fantastic too!
