Gainesy, some of the latest drones are pretty big beasts - you don't just undo a couple of rubber bands to take the wings off (like my old Veron Robot R/C model....
). Breaking them down for transport and erecting them at the other end would be fairly time consuming - and would require a fair bit of post-assembly testing.
RAF Mount Pleasant would seem to be a good place to base the training for future drone operators - plenty of varied terrain around and an ideal opportunity to work up with the Wesident Wedgiment under realistic exercise conditions.
