Actually there is a UK training organisation that has just been set up to provide training on the DO28. It is a UK CAA registered TRTO and has 2 Instructors and Examiners approved on type to provide the training as well a number of single engine Turboprops. I am one of them. It also happens to be the reason I know it cost £1050 to extend an examiner authority.
And yes you do need to hold a CPL to become a CRE.
