LGW to Cape Town and Hong Kong?
Did this rumour outline whether the flights would begin in Dublin, stop in Gatwick and then go onwards to Cape Town, Hong Kong etc. or would the flight only originate in Gatwick.
Remember Colm Barrington recently saying that no A330's would be based in Gatwick so either my first suggestion is true or they're gonna use different aircraft(which they haven';t ordered yet).
If suggestion 1 is true, it wouldn't be TOO bad - same plane, not worrying about missing your connection or the transfer of luggage going awry and possibly both locations on the Departures Board is definitely better than nothing. Non-stop would be better though and if these are served via A330's, why can't they go straight from Dublin?
